“UIR (International University of Rabat) and Lenium are promoting a pilot plant with a capacity of 2 MW at the Technopolis site in Rabat, the first in Morocco to be equipped with integrated solar trackers.”
The announcement was made following the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding for a 2 MW photovoltaic plant. According to the initiators, these projects will be entirely developed, built, and operated by Lenium. The company fully assumes the investment and execution of the photovoltaic plants, with technical support provided by UIR, which will handle the system sizing and auditing.
This solar tracker solution was developed locally in Morocco by engineers from UIR and Lenium in the university’s workshops. It is a technology validated by Trackers Feina, another associated partner of Lenium. In detail, UIR will support Lenium in the local industrial integration of photovoltaic solar plants, aiming for better cost control and execution timelines.
